Rotwein Kuchen or Red Wine Cake

Since a. few days now I have been craving some baking, but still been a bit too lazy to actually get off my but and do it. Now, that my kitchen is cleaned up, useable again and I have that lingering craving for my grandmas red wine cake I think it will actually get up and get it done.

Ever since my friend brought that red wine over (remember the blog!?) I feel like I need that red wine cake in my oven and then in my tummy. So I will shut up about it and just start baking…

300g butter
300g sugar
6 eggs
300g flour
2 packs vanilla sugar if you have any
1.5 tsp cinnamon
1.5 tsp chocolate powder
1/8 liter red wine
150g chocolate chips

How to
Mix the butter and sugar until creamy, add in the eggs one by one. When done add everything else except the wine and the chocolate flakes. Make sure you got no clumps and then whisk in the wine and chocolate flakes.
Bake it at about 350F for about 45-60 minutes and let it cool off completely before you decorate it with either powdered sugar or you can make a red wine glaze (mix powdered sugar and red wine) to decorate it with.

And when all that is done there is only one more thing left to do:
Eat it!! Enjoy it!! And if you want to have all the yummy goodness add some whipped cream to your piece of cake as well….
